It was a good day

I’m excited to announce that I’ll be adding some new content, right here on my blog!

I had four sessions yesterday. (Really five because the last one had a lot of layers that I wanted to tie up neatly).

Among them was my third session with a new couple. I had spent the first two sessions tenderizing one partner, it's God's work not mine, and that went well. Then we partnered to protect the space so the other partner could be more forward and direct without it feeling offensive. That went well! Once we had all of the feelings out in the open, we went through them again and again.

There were lots of tears but our work wasn’t done. I had save one more item, the dilemma, for last. I spoke directly to it. I outlined its features. I gave it a name and a face and a shape. Then we iterated through it too, making it smaller, less dangerous, and more approachable.

Both partners were able to connect sweetly and even shared a hug. We ended the session and as we parted ways, I turned back to see them walking casually together and I smiled. We don’t know what comes next but for the moment, we can enjoy the catharsis.

It was a good day.
